Step 1

Dice bacon & saute until crisp.

Step 2

Drain on paper towels.

Step 3

Mix bacon, sauerkraut,applesauce, sugar, mustard, wine, and seasoning.

Step 4

Saute seasoned chops on both sides until golden-brown in the oil and bacon grease

Step 5

Place chops on top of bacon mixture in a casserole dish.

Step 6

Cover & bake at 350 F for 1 1/2 hours

The pork chops were moist and tender, but the sauerkraut-applesauce base was fabulous. I had never mixed sauerkraut and applesauce together, but I thought it went together quite well. And the touch of bacon and mustard (I used spicy brown mustard) gave it a wonderful touch. Thanks, dienia b.
