Step by Step Method
Step 1
Remove the cabbage core and discard the core.
Step 2
Slice the cabbage into 1 to 2-inch pieces.
Step 3
In a very large skillet saute bacon over medium heat until it has cooked until limp. (Can use pepper bacon)

Do not drain the grease.

Add butter

Add bell pepper /onion if using diced here(1 cup)

Add cabbage to the skillet, and add 1 1/2 cups of water to the skillet.

Place a lid over the pot. It may not fit all of the way, that's ok. the cabbage will cook down.
Step 10
Keep moving cabbage around so gets evenly cooked

After 10 minutes add the chopped tomato bacon,pepper, and salt.(to taste)
Step 12
Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 20 minutes
