Step 1

Mix all the marinade ingredients together in a large bowl to make a thick marinade sauce.

Step 2

Add chicken wings, and mix well.

Step 3

Add the mixture and wings into a large zip-lock bag and marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours, and up to 24 hours.

Step 4

When ready to bake preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 5

Place a piece of parchment or aluminum foil onto a baking sheet for easy cleanup. Spray the parchment or aluminum foil with cooking spray.

Step 6

Place the chicken wings onto the pan, making sure they are not overlapping each other.

Step 7

Bake for 25 minutes, then turn the wings over and bake for 25 more minutes.

Step 8

If you would like to brown the wings further, turn the heat to broil and broil the wings, making sure the rack is in the middle of the oven so the wings don't burn. Broil for another 5-8 minutes, or until nice and brown.

Step 9

Plate and enjoy!

These wings were surprisingly delicious...I wasn't sure if the cocoa powder ...along with the cinnamon...was going to be to much...so like another reviewer I cut back a bit on both...(I know my hubby)...we really enjoyed them...made for "WOTM" and "B'Zazzled" tag games...

I did a half recipe having 8 chicken wings with a weight of 800 grams and they took 40 minutes to cook in a 170C fan forced oven and they were delicious and will definitely be made again though for my taste will add a bit more chilli powder. Thank you LindasBusyKitchen, made for Alphabet Tag Game at FF&F.

These tasted great! I used the grill and just watched the temperature then put them on aluminum foil over the burner that was turned off and I turned the other ones on so it wasn't directly on the heat. No heating up my apartment and making a mess in the house!

I followed instructions as listed except for adding some cayenne. I doubled the recipe and this fed 5 hungry men. Thanks for sharing your recipe. Made for the Billboard Recipe Tag game.
