Heat olive oil in a large soup pot over medium heat.
Add onions, carrots, celery and garlic.
Cook and stir until veggies begin to soften, about 5 minutes.
Add thyme, marjoram, tarragon and turmeric; mix well.
Add broth, lemon juice, bay leaves, lemon zest, salt and pepper; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
Add orzo and simmer for 5 more minutes.
Add chicken and simmer 5 more minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in parsley.
