Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

Step 2

In a 9x13 inch pan cut up the margarine, and place in oven while heating, to melt.

Step 3

Mix all dry ingredients together until well blended. Set aside)

Step 4

When margarine is melted take pan out of oven. Set aside.

Step 5

(I like to keep all the chicken in a bowl full of water. I take one piece of chicken at a time, lightly shake off water). DO NOT pat dry. You want it wet to hold coating.

Step 6

Toss the chicken into the coating, then place "top side" down into the pan with margarine. (If using skin on chicken, place the skin side down).

Step 7

Bake uncovered for 35 minutes. Then turn each piece over, and return to bake for another 15-20 minutes. Making sure it is cooked all the way through.

Oh boy this was was great chicken, tender juicy and a great crust, never thought of using Bisquick for a chicken coating, so glad I found this great recipe which will be repeated again many more times, the only small change I made was reduced the poultry seasoning down to 1 tsp and increased pepper to 1 tsp. thanks we all love the chicken!

I used boneless skinless thighs the whole 3 pounds and had no problems with them being soggy as another reviewer did. They were delicious and my dad wants me to make them again next time using a whole cut up chicken, so he can try them all.

We loved the flavor of this chicken recipe but I was undecided as to how many stars it should receive due to the fact that the coating was soggy. Now, this may have been due to the fact that I used three boneless, skinless chicken thighs and therefore they ended up swimming in butter and chicken juice. I plan on trying it again with chicken thighs bonein. The concept is great and like I said very tasty. Made for Billboard tag.

I made this one day for my kids when my husband and I had some spicy fried chicken. They gobbled it up like two hungry bears. I took a few bites when it was done and it was really yummy. Looks like I will be making this again for all of us next time!
