Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Spread tater tots out on a baking sheet.

Step 2

Combine onion powder, garlic powder, ginger, and salt in a small bowl. Sprinkle over tater tots and give them a good toss.

Step 3

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until tots are golden brown.

Step 4

Meanwhile, make the cheese sauce. In a medium-size saucepan, toss the cheese with the cornstarch. Pour in the evaporated milk and add in gochujang. Cook over medium low heat, stirring constantly, until cheese is melted and smooth and sauce thickens.

Step 5

Serve tots hot with cheese sauce for dipping.

This was a fun recipe! The cheese sauce was yummy but our favorite part was the crispy, flavored tots. I'll most likely be making these again without the sauce - but it was fun to try the whole thing this time. It went perfectly with our Korean chicken. Thank you!

These are so much fun! I loved how it turned out and makes for a great side or snack. I realized that the tater tot package I bought was two lbs. instead of one, so I wound up doubling the sauce, which in the end was way Alot! Next time, I will cut the sauce recipe in half, because it will be plenty for a two lb. bag. But, no fear I will be freezing it for next time. It tastes great and we all enjoyed it this evening.
