"Much cheaper and less expensive that those little bottles at the store. Plan ahead this must be made at least 1 day ahead to allow the flavors to blend and intensify, more time up to 5 days in the fridge is even better, do not use this the same day it's made, also this needs about 1 1/2 hours simmering time on top of the stove. This goes with my #recipe24884"
In a medium saucepan, heat the margarine over medium heat. Add in chopped onion; saute for about 3 minutes or until soft. Add in cumin, chili powder and smoked paprika; cook for a few minutes to release the flavors (stirring continuously).
Add in all remaining ingredients, bring to a simmer stirring, reduce heat to low and continue simmering (uncovered) for about 45 minutes to1 hour until slightly reduced, stirring occasionally.
Cool sauce to room temperature then refrigerate for 1-5 days (the longer the better).
