"I make this using left over roast beef or steak, it's awesome made with grilled steak! I have not added the amounts, except for the buns and butter mixture, it will depend on how much beef you have leftover and you can use as much ingredient amounts as you like to create this delicious sandwich, increase the butter/garlic mixture for more than two. To save time you can saute the onions and green bell pepper/s well in advance or 1-2 days ahead just warm slightly in the microwave before using"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Slice the buns in half. In a small bowl combine the soft butter with garlic. Spread over the sliced part of all 4 halves. Place in a hot skillet and toast until browned (about 2 minutes) set aside.

Step 2

In the same skillet (adding in oil or butter if you like) saute the sliced onions, bell pepper and sliced mushrooms until softened. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove to a bowl. Add in sliced beef and toss to heat through.

Step 3

To assemble the sandwich; pile the beef onto one side of the toasted bun, then top with onion mixture, sliced jalapenos then top with sliced cheese. Place on a baking sheet. Place until the broiler heat to melt cheese (about 1 minute). Serve
