"This is easy and pretty much just as good as the rolled chicken. I like some heat so I add a tablespoon of hot sauce to the egg/water mixture or you could add cayenne pepper to the crumb mixture"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Set oven rack to lowest position (for crispier chicken place onto a baking rack fitted into a baking pan or baking sheet).

Step 2

Place the seasoned crumbs and Parmesan cheese in a shallow bowl. Whisk together the eggs and 2 tablespoons water in another shallow bowl.

Step 3

Dip chicken in egg mixture allowing excess to drip off, then coat in breadcrumb mixture pressing down with fingers to adhere the coating to the chicken. Transfer to baking pan. Repeat with remaining chicken.

Step 4

Bake for 25 minutes or until chicken is done (cooking time will depend on how thick the chicken breast is). Remove from oven top each breast with 2 ham slices and 1-2 Swiss cheese slice; return to oven to bake 7-8 more minutes or until cheese melts and the ham is hot.

Very easy and very delicious. The added Parmesan cheese in the bread crumbs adds a very nice layer of flavor.
