Step by Step Method

Step 1

Baked Garlic Bread:

Step 2

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 3

Slice bread in half lengthwise and place on cookie sheet.

Step 4

Combine remaining ingredients and spread on bread.

Step 5

Sprinkle with parmesan on one half, if desired.

Step 6

Put bread back together and cut into serving size pieces.

Step 7

Wrap tightly in aluminum foil, sealing the edges of the foil.

Step 8

Bake for about 15 minutes or until heated through.

Toasted Garlic Bread:

Step 11

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 12

Slice bread into thick slices and place on a cookie sheet.

Step 13

Combine remaining ingredients and spread on slices.

Step 14

Sprinkle with parmesan if desired.

Step 15

Bake for about 10 minutes or until heated through.

Step 16

If not golden, turn to broil and watch carefully - no more than 1 minute!

Love how this turned out. Great garlic bread! I made 2 breads using 2 different ways to use the garlic spread. One I cut partially through the bread stick and used the butter between each slice and the other was cutting the bread in half, then joining together as per the recipe. I did like the partially cutting through as the bread, as the bread was a little softer from both side being spread with butter; whereas the 2nd way ended up a little less flavor from the butter being only in the centre but was crispier...... but in the end both ways were sooo good.

Really good garlic bread. I shifted the ratio to a little more oil and less butter. It came out great.
