Step by Step Method

Step 1

Melt the butter in a skillet over medium-high heat and add the peppers and onion; cook until onion and peppers soften.

Step 2

Pour the contents of the skillet in a rice cooker along with the remaining ingredients and give it a good stir.

Step 3

Turn rice cooker on and let it run it's course.

Step 4

I LOVE my rice cooker, even though it's getting old and requires a little more liquid than it used to... and this is a wonderful rice cooker recipe. I did add about half a cup more liquid (I know my finicky rice cooker) and I used half chicken broth and half water, to use up the little bit of chicken broth I had in the refrigerator taking up space. This was enjoyed by the entire family and will be made again. Made for Pick Me Tag.
