Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F

Step 2

Combine the flours, baking powder, salt, baking soda, caraway seeds, sunflower seeds, and brown sugar in a large bowl.

Step 3

Mix the egg with the buttermilk and stir into the dry ingredients just to blend.

Step 4

Dust the counter with oatmeal flakes.

Step 5

Turn out dough and knead about 10 times to cover with flakes and form a round ball.

Step 6

Place on buttered Pam sprayed cookie sheet

Step 7

Cut a cross lightly on top of loaf and bake at 375 for 45 minutes or until it sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom
