Step by Step Method

Step 1

Pre-heat oven 200°C.

Step 2

Place the pastry on a tray lined with baking paper and set aside.

Step 3

Use a mandolin to slice apples into 2mm rounds.

Step 4

Toss apples in lemon juice and arrange over pastry, leaving a 2cm border.

Step 5

Crimp the edges of the pastry and then brush the apples with 3/4 of the honey.

Step 6

Dot the tart with butter and bake for 20 minutes or until the apples are soft and the pastry crisp.

Step 7

Brush the hot tart with the remaining honey, lightly dust with icing sugar and serve.

TIP - These tarts also work well with berries, pears, peaches. nectarines, apricots and plums.

This did not work for me. It may have been the puff pastry which I didn't know how to work, but it tasted good but the pastry was all crumbly. Maybe something was missing in the directions or it was the puff pastry I tried using.
