Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 160 grams frozen puff pastry, frozen and just thawed (1 sheet)
  • 2 apples, large and peeled
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, chilled
  • Icing sugar, to garnish (optional)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Pre-heat oven 200°C.

  • Step 2: Place the pastry on a tray lined with baking paper and set aside.

  • Step 3: Use a mandolin to slice apples into 2mm rounds.

  • Step 4: Toss apples in lemon juice and arrange over pastry, leaving a 2cm border.

  • Step 5: Crimp the edges of the pastry and then brush the apples with 3/4 of the honey.

  • Step 6: Dot the tart with butter and bake for 20 minutes or until the apples are soft and the pastry crisp.

  • Step 7: Brush the hot tart with the remaining honey, lightly dust with icing sugar and serve.

  • TIP - These tarts also work well with berries, pears, peaches. nectarines, apricots and plums.
