Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, ground paprika, ground turmeric, ground cinnamon, salt, and black pepper to make the marinade.

Step 2

Place the chicken drumsticks in a large zip-top bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the drumsticks and toss well to coat them evenly. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results. Allow the chicken to marinate and absorb the flavors.

Step 3

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken drumsticks from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off.

Step 4

Place the drumsticks on the grill and cook for about 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has reached an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). The drumsticks should be nicely charred and golden brown on the outside.

Step 5

Transfer the grilled chicken drumsticks to a serving platter. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.

Step 6

Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the chicken, if desired.

Great flavor!! The marinade flavor was soooo good on the grilled chicken. I did need to stand guard while grilling since the oil from the marinade tended to cause some flames, but it was so worth it. Delish and easy! I used chicken thighs since I had that on hand.

We really enjoyed the spices that were used for these tasty easy to prepare...I let mine marinate overnight...cook time was spot on...served them with some grilled potato wedges...made for "FYC" and "Billboard" tag games...

I let the drums marinate for almost 24 hours and they turned out juicy and tender on the inside and the grill crisped the skin perfectly. We LOVED this!

I was not sure I was going to like this because of the cinnamon but I tried it and I liked it. It was a good flavor and barely there. I did squirt some lemon juice on my chicken when I was eating it and I really liked that.
