Step by Step Method
Step 1
Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil or parchment, grease lightly and cover the surface completely with graham crackers. Break crackers as necessary to fill in the entire pan end to end and side to side.
Step 2
Combine butter and brown sugar in a pan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat some and cook until all the sugar is melted.
Step 3
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla, vinegar and salt. Pour hot caramel over the graham crackers, spreading it over the entire surface. Top the caramel with chopped nuts.
Step 4
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool completely.
Step 5
When cooled, break the crackers in pieces of random size. Store in an air tight container, separating layers with waxed paper or foil.
Step 6
To add chocolate, sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot caramel before baking and add the nuts to the top.
