Step by Step Method

Step 1

Cream shortening and sugar; add molasses, egg, salt and mix well.

Step 2

Add rest of ingredients; mix well as this makes a stiff dough.

Step 3

Roll into balls and roll in extra granulated sugar.

Step 4

Bake on ungreased sheet at 350 degrees for 12 minutes (DO NOT flatten balls on the sheet).
