Step by Step Method

Step 1

In an extra-large skillet heat sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add ground pork, 1 tablespoon of the ginger, and half of the garlic. Cook and stir until meat is browned and crispy. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Step 2

Add peppers to skillet. Cook, without stirring, 2 to 3 minutes or until peppers begin to blacken and blister. Stir peppers , stir in the remaining ginger and garlic, water, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Reduce heat to medium. Cook, covered, 2 minutes more or until peppers are crisp-tender. Return meat to skillet. Cook and stir until heated through. Serve with rice and top with peanuts and, if desired, basil.
