The ingredients are:
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, chopped
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups red bell pepper, cut into strips
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce, reduced-sodium
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar, packed
  • 2 cups hot cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup dry-roasted peanuts, chopped
  • Snipped fresh basil (optional)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In an extra-large skillet heat sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add ground pork, 1 tablespoon of the ginger, and half of the garlic. Cook and stir until meat is browned and crispy. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  • Step 2: Add peppers to skillet. Cook, without stirring, 2 to 3 minutes or until peppers begin to blacken and blister. Stir peppers , stir in the remaining ginger and garlic, water, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Reduce heat to medium. Cook, covered, 2 minutes more or until peppers are crisp-tender. Return meat to skillet. Cook and stir until heated through. Serve with rice and top with peanuts and, if desired, basil.
