Step by Step Method

Step 1

Place the sausage in a skillet and fry, turning as necessary, until nearly done (see Note). Add the apple wedges and sauté in the sausage fat until almost soft but not mushy (if there isn't enough fat in the pan, you can either add a touch of oil, butter, or bacon fat).

Step 2

Season with a good grind of black pepper, to taste.

Step 3

Drain the sausage and apple quickly on paper towels, then arrange on a platter and serve hot.

NOTE: depending on the size of your skillet, amount of sausages cooked, you may want to remove the sausages and set them aside, and then place them back into the skillet with the cooked apples towards the end.

So simple and so good. I used some chicken sausages I bought from Costco and served with muffins and mashed potatoes and grapes. Easy peasy dinner which everyone enjoyed! Thanks for sharing!
