"I ran across this awhile back on the Southern Plate site; it is so easy and delicious! It is a dump and cook recipe that makes a wonderful side dish for breakfast or dinner without the fuss of peeling and cutting apples. Make sure you start off with unsweetened applesauce."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Put everything in a large pan. Cook over medium heat, melting the butter and stirring everything together well.
Step 2
Once it starts to bubble, turn the heat down to low. Check the seasonings and sweetness at this time - you can add extra brown sugar at this time (1/4 cup), but I've not found it necessary.
Step 3
Cook on low until the sauce thickens up slightly. You can serve this warm or cold.
