Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 46 ounces applesauce (unsweetened)
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Put everything in a large pan. Cook over medium heat, melting the butter and stirring everything together well.

  • Step 2: Once it starts to bubble, turn the heat down to low. Check the seasonings and sweetness at this time - you can add extra brown sugar at this time (1/4 cup), but I've not found it necessary.

  • Step 3: Cook on low until the sauce thickens up slightly. You can serve this warm or cold.
