"These little clouds of meringue are sweet and have a crunch to them. Just a small bite of happiness to end a meal or to add to a cookie tray. The "forgotten" refers to leaving them in the oven until it cools, and the original recipe said to just leave them there overnight."

Great cookies that are fun to make! So cool how you just preheat the oven and then put them in, turn off the heat and leave them overnight. Very nice for a hot summer day when I didn't want to heat up the whole house with the oven. I made these as directed with both pecans and chocolate chips. I think I would prefer them with just the pecans as the chocolate chips all clumped up at the bottom of each cookie and made the light meringue heavy. These might be nice with some orange or lemon zest added too. Made for the Billboard recipe tag game.
