Step by Step Method

Step 1

Cheese ... Simply mix your goat cheese with the ginger.

Step 2

Nuts ... Add the fine chopped nuts to a small plate. I like to chop mine in a ziploc bag. Just add to the bag; then, use a meat mallet, rolling pin, or even a hammer to crush the nuts.

Step 3

Fruit ... Add all the fruit to a large bowl and squeeze the lemon over the top; then, toss lightly. The lemon will prevent the fruit from turning brown.

Step 4

Slices ... Lightly pat each fruit slice dry with a paper towel. Then, holding the slice at one end; spread the cheese on both sides of the bottom 2/3's of the slice; then press both sides in the pistachios. Transfer to a serving platter. You can place them on a flat pan lined with parchment; then cover well with plastic wrap; but, you risk the fruit browning. I really prefer to serve them right away if possible. They only take a couple of minutes to prepare. You will end up with 1/3 of the slice plain, and the other 2/3's coated in the cheese and nuts.

Step 5

Serve and ENJOY! ... A simple, yet elegant, and easy appetizer. Perfect to enjoy with some crackers and a glass of wine before dinner.
