"My DD made this at school in cooking. I didn't even get to taste them. By the time I got home it was all gone !!! My DH & DS gave them the big thumbs up, and have asked her to make them again!! I have also used GF flour in this recipe with great results."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Set oven at 180dg c .
Step 2
Grease and line a 200mm bar tin.
Step 3
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Step 4
Mix bi-carb and water. Stir bi-carb mixture into all other ingredients (except almonds)and mix well.
Step 5
Place in pan and sprinkle with the slivered almonds.
Step 6
Bake for 45 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
Step 7
Cool on rack and cut into bars.
Step 8
Serve warm with whipped cream or cold.
