Step by Step Method
Step 1
Dates ... Slice the dates in half (not all the way through), just enough to open them up. Add a pinch of the blue cheese in the center of the date and close the date back up.
Step 2
Bacon ... Wrap one 1/2 slice of bacon around each date and secure with a toothpick. Add the dates to a shallow baking dish. I prefer to line the dish with parchment paper for easy clean up. You can also use a baking sheet, but you want it to have sides so you will not run is the risk of having any grease from the baking dripping off the pan.
Step 3
Bake ... Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Add the dates on the middle shelf and bake 30-40 minutes until brown and crisp. Turn the dates over after 20 minutes.
Step 4
Serve ... Right out of the oven, or they are even fine at room temp for a little bit, but definitely best warm. ENJOY!!
