Soak the milk and oatmeal for 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Whisk dry ingredients into a bowl.

Add dates and stir.

Cream margarine and sugar.

Add egg and oatmeal mixture; add this mixture to creamed mixture.
