  • When selecting potatoes, choose a variety with a high starch content, such as Desiree, for a creamy mash.
  • For the bacon, look for a leaner cut, such as back bacon, and remove the rind before chopping.

  • Substitute vegetable oil with olive oil - Olive oil is a healthier alternative to vegetable oil as it has more monounsaturated fats. It also has a higher smoke point, which makes it more suitable for cooking.
  • Substitute bacon with tempeh - Tempeh is a plant-based alternative to bacon that is both healthier and more sustainable. It contains more protein and fiber than bacon, and is a great source of plant-based iron.

Vegetarian Option Replace the prawns with 250 grams of diced firm tofu and the bacon with 2 tablespoons of olive oil.

Garlic Bread - This classic side dish is the perfect accompaniment to the Creamy Prawn Chowder. The garlic bread will add a nice crunch and flavor to the chowder, making it an even more enjoyable meal.

Crispy Baked Fries: Crispy Baked Fries are a great way to add a crunchy element to the Creamy Prawn Chowder. They are easy to make and go well with the creamy and flavorful chowder. Plus, they are a healthier alternative to traditional fried fries.
