Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 180C.
Step 2
Grease a 30 x 20 x 5cm slice tin and set aside.
Step 3
Put cake mix, melted butter and 1/3 cup of the evaporated milk in the large mixing bowl of an electric mixer and beat on medium speed until smooth.
Step 4
Spread 3/4 of dough in prepared tin.
Step 5
In a large heavy based saucepan, cook and stir caramels and remaining evaporated milk over medium-low heat for 6 to 8 minutes until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth and then pour caramel mixture over dough and sprinkle with nuts and chocolate pieces.
Step 6
Dot remaining dough over layers in tin and bake for 25 minutes.
Step 7
Cool in tine on a wire rack and then cut into squares and serve.
