Step by Step Method

Step 1

Pour pie filling into an 8 x 8 inch baking dish.

Step 2

Sprinkle cake mix over the filing.

Step 3

In a cup or bowl combine the melted margarine with the chopped nuts and then spread mixture over cake mix.

Step 4

Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-40 minutes.

Step 5

Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

This was very easy to make and very tasty. I was confused about what size of cake mix to use. I had a similar dessert like this years ago and it used a regular cake mix with a 13x9 pan. With using an 8x8 pan i used just 1/2 a cake mix. That seemed to be about the right size. My son gobbled this down.
