Step 1

Cut off tip of the FRESH chicken wings. Cut the wings in half. Set aside.

Step 2

Combine the oil with garlic salt, ginger and pepper. Rub on wings, then leave them marinate for at least 45 minutes.

Step 3

Heat cooking oil. Fry marinated wings until golden brown. Transfer cooked wings on a plate lined with paper towels to remove excess oil.

Step 4

Leave around 2 tbsp. of cooking oil in the pan and discard the rest.

Step 5

Add honey, chili sauce and calamansi juice into the oil. Put back fried chicken wings and cook until fully coated with the sauce.

Oh boy are these good!! Both hubby and I devoured these, such a great sweet and tangy flavoring to these. I did add a bit of hot pepper flakes for heat which was nice also. They will be made again very soon.
