Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds chicken wings (must be fresh NOT frozen then thawed)
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic salt (or 3 garlic cloves very finely minced)
  • 1 teaspoon finely grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup chili sauce
  • 1/4 cup calamansi juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil. for frying

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cut off tip of the FRESH chicken wings. Cut the wings in half. Set aside.

  • Step 2: Combine the oil with garlic salt, ginger and pepper. Rub on wings, then leave them marinate for at least 45 minutes.

  • Step 3: Heat cooking oil. Fry marinated wings until golden brown. Transfer cooked wings on a plate lined with paper towels to remove excess oil.

  • Step 4: Leave around 2 tbsp. of cooking oil in the pan and discard the rest.

  • Step 5: Add honey, chili sauce and calamansi juice into the oil. Put back fried chicken wings and cook until fully coated with the sauce.
