Step by Step Method
Step 1
Heat the oven to 450° Fahrenheit. Grease an 8 X 8 inch baking dish.
Step 2
Melt a stick of butter in your baking dish.
Step 3
Get out a medium bowl and put in the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix it together.
Step 4
Pour in the buttermilk. Stir it until a loose dough is formed. The batter should be a little sticky.
Step 5
Place the dough into the baking dish. Spread it out with your hands. There will be butter that runs over the top of the dough. After smoothing it out in the pan, cut the biscuit dough into nine squares before placing into the oven.
Step 6
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, turning the dish once during the baking time.
Step 7
If the butter that comes to the top is turning brown, dab it with a paper towel around the edges.
