Step 1

Preheat oven to 450F Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt. Grate frozen butter into flour mixture, cut into mixture with a pastry cutter until until it forms small crumbs.

Step 2

Make a well in the centre of mixture and pour in half of the milk, stir until the dough starts to come away from the sides of the bowl, add more milk and mix until a ball forms. Turn out onto lightly floured board, knead 6 or 8 times; then roll out to about half inch thick. Cut with a floured biscuit cutter into 6 large or 12 small biscuits. These biscuits were made on 8/25/13,to go with our Sunday Dinner.Except for double sifting the dry ingredients, this recipe was made exactly as it was written. My oven heat is a bit on the "wonky" side,so the baking time took just a bit longer than the stated time.I've never made biscuits before that had grated butter in the dough,so that intrigued me. I was thinking that they would've had a really strong baking powder taste with so much in the recipe, but they didn't. Thanks for posting a recipe that will be made again and," Keep Smiling :) "

Light and fluffy is what my 7yr old granddaughter said about these biscuits! And indeed they are. I was short on time so just did the spoon and drop onto a parchment lined baking sheet, and they turned out just perfectly. Thank you for sharing. Made for Billboard Recipe Tag.

WoW! Derf, I made these today to go with a dinner of Ham tonight and all I can say is Thank You. These Biscuits turned out beautifully, great height, a beautiful golden brown, bravo! My Hubby gonna love us for these ;) This recipe made 7 good sized biscuits, and I used wax paper to knead/roll out on (saves a huge clean up on the countertop) Think I'll go sneak one right now and add some butter and honey to it. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do!
