Step by Step Method
Step 1
Heat the tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium low heat, add onion and slowly cook the onion, stirring often until it is golden, add the vinegar continue cooking for 3 more minutes, stirring. The vinegar will now be evaporated and the onions carmelized. About 20-25 minutes
Step 2
Have water boiling in the bottom of a steamer pot and 5 minutes before your onions are ready add broccoli to the top of the steamer and steam for 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper
Step 3
Add broccoli to a serving bowl mix in onions and pine nuts or serve your broccoli on the individual plates, top with onion, sprinkle on pine nuts and enjoy
