Step by Step Method

Step 1

Stir together soy sauce, lemon juice and sesame oil; set aside.

Step 2

Place water and broccoli in a large, microwave-safe bowl; microwave on high 4 minutes.

Step 3

Add bell pepper, cover and microwave an additional 4 minutes, until vegetables are crisp-tender.

Step 4

Drain water; stir sauce again and toss with vegetables.

Step 5

Serve immediately, or chill and serve cold.

I cooked these for the first 4 minutes as recommended and my veggies where already soft so I did not cook them for the additional 4 minutes. I mixed in the sauce and served this with baked tilapia. I will add garlic to this next time I make it as I found it needed a little boost. Thanks for sharing your recipe here :-)

Lovely presentation but the recipe needed some zip. I couldn't find any toasted sesame oil so I used regular Asian. I think perhaps some minced ginger root. We liked it just didn't love it.
