Step by Step Method

Step 1

Break broccoli into florets, peel stems and cut into 1-inch pieces.

Step 2

Bring 3/4 cup broth to boil in medium saucepan.

Step 3

Add broccoli stems, cover and cook until crisp-tender, 3 to 4 minutes. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup broth.

Step 4

Heat oil in wok or large skillet. Add ginger, onion and garlic and stir-fry 1 minute.

Step 5

Add broccoli stems and florets and stir-fry 2 minutes.

Step 6

Add oyster sauce, sugar and 1/2 cup broth and stir-fry 2 minutes.

Step 7

For thicker sauce, stir in cornstarch dissolved in 2 teaspoons broth and cook briefly.

I'm always looking for new ways to fix broccoli since it is a favorite at our house. This is a keeper, we loved the sauce and I'm glad when I cut the amount of broccoli by half that I made the whole amount of it. Thanks for sharing this easy and yummy recipe!

We loved this! The sauce was oh-so-flavorful! Didn't use the cornstarch, and it was perfect as is. I also used my nifty new onion shredder. A win all around!
