Step 1
Place all the ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

Reduce heat to medium low and simmer, while stirring until sugar and salt is dissolved.

Allow to cool completely.

Pour in a large re-sealable plastic bag, add whole chicken and allow to marinate, refrigerated, for 24 hours.

Remove from marinade, rinse chicken in cold water and pat dry.
