"This recipe is based on a childhood favorite of DH created by his Mom.eb The cloves give this dish the distinctive flavur that I associate with cuisine from Quebec but if you don't like the taste you can omit it."

I made a couple of changes to this recipe, only because of a few food intolerances. I used rice pasta noodles and Cheddar Style Shreds and this was delicious.

Lovely Macaroni Casserole. I used the cloves and it gave the dish a distinctive flavour that we loved. I cut the recipe in half and had two servings and two more put in the freezer. Thanks Dreamer for a lovely dinner served with green beans and new carrots. Made again 20 July 2013 I cut back on the macaroni (trying to watch carbs) and used Mexi stewed tomatoes - Love this recipe

This is very like one of our favourite comfort foods and just enough different to make it to our family cookbook! I made this as posted using the optional pinch of cloves which gives a hint of added flavour which we liked. Served this with a green salad with homemade French dressing. Great supper - you just can't beat the taste of good old fashioned comfort food!
