Step by Step Method

Step 1

Mix together the molasses, oil, water, garlic powder, pepper, ginger and salt.

Step 2

Brush this generously over both sides of salmon steaks.

Step 3

Refrigerate for a couple of hours.

Step 4

Take out of refrigerator half an hour before you plan on cooking it.

Step 5

Oil your grill well.

Step 6

Place the salmon steaks on the oiled grill and cook over medium-high heat until cooked through, about 4 to 5 minutes per side, depending on thickness of salmon steaks.

I made these and put them under the broiler after baking them for 5 minutes per side in the oven. The top browned up nice and it was delicious. Loved the taste from the molasses and ginger together!

My George Foreman grill came in real handy when grilling these steaks, since we have so much snow outside. I used wild salmon and it was extra delicious this way!

Great salmon! My son and dil were here and I wanted to make something special for dinner so I made this and we all loved it. I am glad you reminded me to grease the grill rack before cooking, so it didn't stick. It came out perfecto!
