Step 1: Mix together the molasses, oil, water, garlic powder, pepper, ginger and salt.
Step 2: Brush this generously over both sides of salmon steaks.
Step 3: Refrigerate for a couple of hours.
Step 4: Take out of refrigerator half an hour before you plan on cooking it.
Step 5: Oil your grill well.
Step 6: Place the salmon steaks on the oiled grill and cook over medium-high heat until cooked through, about 4 to 5 minutes per side, depending on thickness of salmon steaks.
