"This is a really nice recipe not too spicy but has pep. I don't like some recipes that use Onion soup mix but I like this one. If you like larger burger patties cut back to making 4 or 5 burgers. I make these in a skillet if the weather isn't for BBQ. It is from Cambell's Kitchen with some modifications by me. If I am watching my carbs I will use a tortilla or other wrap instead of a bun like you see in the photos. Try adding some salsa to the top of the burger and some cheese."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Mix together the beef, salsa, and onion soup mix. Form into 6 patties 1/2 inch thick. Do this ahead of time and keep covered in the fridge until you are almost ready to BBQ them.

Step 2

Lightly oil your BBQ rack, have medium heat. Grill the burgers for about 5 minutes each side or until they are cooked to your liking.

Step 3

Serve on a bun with avacado, tomato slice and lettuce. Add cheese if you like. Add any other condiments that you enjoy - mushrooms anyone? Enjoy.

Delicious! How good? All set to make more for the weekend. Cool and rainy weather had me pan frying, hoping to barbecue them this time around - if we manage a warm sunny weekend. I hadn't used the Onion Soup for years but will be adding it to my shopping list - it made for great tasting burgers. The low carbers and gf will likely eat theirs plated topped with their fav toppings. I offer onions as well for those of use who love onions on our burgers! Winner and in my recipe drawer for this one!

We had these for our first barbecue of the year for Memorial Day and they came out really delicious with a little bite of spiciness that those that like a little heat enjoyed!
