"As far back as I can remember this is Banana Pudding that my Mom always made for every Family get together. And a few times it was even made for birthdays.This recipe contains instant pudding but if you want to take the time to make your own pudding feel free to do so.Also,if you would like to add walnuts and/or toasted coconut go right ahead and let me know in your review how it turned out. But try it the way it was written the first time and see if you want to use the additions.Please plan ahead this needs several hours to chill.Chill time is " Cook Time " " Keep Smiling :)"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

In the bottom of a 2.75 quart deep sided rectangle baking dish, place a few wafers flat side down until the bottom of the dish is covered(don't worry if the bottom isn't completely covered).

Step 2

Evenly place half of the sliced bananas over the vanilla wafers.

Step 3

In a medium bowl mix together 1 box of pudding with 2 cups of milk making sure all the pudding is well blended.

Step 4

Pour the mixed pudding over the bananas.

Step 5

Top this layer of pudding with more wafers.

Step 6

Then top the wafers with remaining bananas.

Step 7

Mix the remaining pudding with the rest of the milk.

Step 8

Pour over bananas, and sprinkle top with 1/2 cup finely crushed vanilla wafers and chill for 4 or more hours.
