"I made this a lot of times and my whole family loves it. I have to double the recipe though because it's not enough for everyone, I still only use one onion though and 2 tsps garlic powder and 3 tbsps butter"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat oven to 375F degrees.

Step 2

Butter (grease) a one quart baking dish.

Step 3

Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the onion and garlic powder in the butter until the onion is soft, 3-4 minutes. Add the rice, cook until the rice is slightly golden, 3 minutes (you have to stir the rice all the time).

Step 4

Add (slowly add) in the chicken broth. Season with the salt and pepper. light-simmer another 5 minutes.

Step 5

Transfer to the prepared dish.

Step 6

Bake in the oven until the broth is completely absorbed, 35 to 40 minutes.

Step 7

Fluff with a fork to serve.

I made a double amount to feed 5 of us and the kids woofed it down so fast I thought they were going to choke! Delicious pilaf and it was perfect with our oven baked pork chops!
