Step 1: Heat oven to 375F degrees.
Step 2: Butter (grease) a one quart baking dish.
Step 3: Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the onion and garlic powder in the butter until the onion is soft, 3-4 minutes. Add the rice, cook until the rice is slightly golden, 3 minutes (you have to stir the rice all the time).
Step 4: Add (slowly add) in the chicken broth. Season with the salt and pepper. light-simmer another 5 minutes.
Step 5: Transfer to the prepared dish.
Step 6: Bake in the oven until the broth is completely absorbed, 35 to 40 minutes.
Step 7: Fluff with a fork to serve.
