" Tasty cold weather recipe. You may sub chicken stock for the apple juice and almonds go well instead of the pecans. Use what ever you prefer. If the turnip is quite large cut it in half or even quarters before slicing it."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a 1 1/2 quart lightly oiled baking dish layer the apple and turnip slices

Step 2

Sprinkle on the Coriander, season with salt and pepper, pour in the apple juice, cover the casserole

Step 3

Bake for 30 minutes in a 350f oven, uncover, sprinkle on the nuts, bake for a further 10 mintes uncovered

mmm very nice veggie casserole side, love the combination of apple and rutabega which i used, turnip wouold be equally as good! would make a lovely company side, especially over the holidays. Seasoning with coriander is great and the pecans are a lovely crunch finish. I will be making this one often.
