Step by Step Method

Step 1

Add the butter to a 10" (approx.) size oven-proof skillet, or a pie dish. Place in a 425°F oven until the butter has melted.

Step 2

Beat eggs and vanilla in a bowl with an electric mixer.

Step 3

Add the flour, milk and the salt and sugar and continue to beat mixture until smooth and well blended.

Step 4

Pour batter into the hot skillet (or pie dish), allowing the batter to from up the sides of the skillet.

Step 5

Bake for about 15 - 20 minutes or until the edges of the pancake are golden brown.

Step 6

In a small saucepan, warm the pie filling over low heat until thoroughly heated. Pour the heated pie filling into the center of the pancake. Sprinkle with walnuts (optional). Serve immediately.

I made my own apple pie filling by boiling down apples to chunky style and seasoning with cinnamon and Splenda. The pancakes came out so delicious that I just may make them again this weekend! We really enjoyed these Sous Chef and I do thank you for sharing it with us. Linda
