Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to moderate 180 degrees C.
Step 2
Grease a slice pan or line with baking paper.
Step 3
In a large bowl, combine flour, coconut, and sugar and mix in butter and egg and then press half of the mixture into the pan.
Step 4
Cover the base with the apples and crumble the remaining mixture over the apples.
Step 5
Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 6
Cool in pan and then cut into squares.
Step 7
I make this in a forced fan oven ( 160 degrees C ) and bake for only 22 minutes. I

You can also make this in a round cake pan and it works out fine that way as well @ 22 minutes.
