Step 1: Preheat oven to moderate 180 degrees C.
Step 2: Grease a slice pan or line with baking paper.
Step 3: In a large bowl, combine flour, coconut, and sugar and mix in butter and egg and then press half of the mixture into the pan.
Step 4: Cover the base with the apples and crumble the remaining mixture over the apples.
Step 5: Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 6: Cool in pan and then cut into squares.
Step 7: I make this in a forced fan oven ( 160 degrees C ) and bake for only 22 minutes. I
Step 8: You can also make this in a round cake pan and it works out fine that way as well @ 22 minutes.
