Step 1

In a medium bowl, gently stir together, chicken, apple, celery and raisins or dried cranberries if using.

Step 2

In a small bowl, whisk together, dressing and brown sugar, pour over chicken mixture. Toss gently to coat.

Step 3

Serve on lettuce leaves, sprinkle nuts of your choice over.

This simple salad has 10 star flavor! I used a 7 ounce pouch of chicken breast that I shredded apart for smaller pieces in my salad. Love cranraisins so those were my choice but forgot to buy pecans. Had Zesty Italian dressing on hand and with the brown sugar it was wonderful dressing to use. I could eat this salad everyday! Made and reviewed for Derf's Cookathon 2013. RIP my dear friend.

I made this using a granny smith apple and used splenda instead of the brown sugar. I ate this as is without the suggested lettuce and really enjoyed this. It is going right into my keeper recipes folder! Made for the Billboard Recipe Tag Game.

What a great tasting salad!! It has a nice crunchy texture packed with plenty of flavor! I made some honey mustard salad dressing and spooned a bit of that over the salad, since we like the flavor of honey mustard with chicken. This salad makes an absolutely delightful lunch!
